When diplomacy fails to bear fruit a thinking person might think that diplomacy alone is no longer the solution, at least not without other actions. Uncle Jimbo from Military Matters explains to Kevin Drum that "war is diplomacy continued by other means" and that "without the threat of violence and a belief by the other party that you will actually hurt them, diplomacy is useless."
